Brought to you by the fantastic Mary White SFK Representative Team, this event is all about unleashing your verbal prowess through prepared and impromptu speech.

Feel the adrenaline as each team throws their best contender into the ring, abiding by the following rules.
π Prepared speakers will be given a set list of topics and will need to choose one of these topics to base their speech around.
π Prepared speakers should aim to speak for 5 minutes with warning bells at 4, 4.5, & 5 minutes.
π Impromptu speakers will each be given their topic on the night with 1 minute of preparation time.
π Impromptu speakers should aim to speak for 2 minutes, with warning bells at 1.5, 2, & 2.5 minutes.
Every speech will then be judged on the following categories:

20% Speech Development (Structure, Organisation, Support Material)

15% Effectiveness (Achieved Purpose, Interest, Reception)
β
15% Speech Value (Ideas, Logic, Original Thought)
β
10% Physical (Appearance, Body Language)
β
10% Voice (Flexibility, Volume)
β
10% Manner (Directness, Assurance, Enthusiasm)
β
10% Appropriateness (To speech purpose & audience)
β
10% Correctness (Grammar, Pronunciation, Word Selection)
